Reliving K-Rod's Record Breaking Save Milestone
Francisco Rodriguez, nicknamed K-Rod for his amazing ability to strike out a lot of hitters, had a season in 2008 that is nothing short of spectacular. This came during the height of his career, where he had consecutive years of leading the league in saves. But 2008 was on another level. The Angels as a team won the most games in franchise history, and Rodriguez was able to nail down a significant portion of those games. K-Rod was able to set a single season saves record that may never be broken. Edwin Diaz in 2018 made an attempt, but still came up considerably short. Today, we will relive the excitement surrounding K-Rod’s historic accomplishment, events preceding the milestone, and the actual record breaking save itself.
