Retrieve Shut Down Diagnostics from CMX/CM900/CM7XXX | Remote Start Basics & Installation
When troubleshooting your Firstech remote starter, you may need to run a diagnostics test to determine why a vehicle shuts down after briefly remote starting. Often, this means that not all of the required conditions for safe remote starting have been met (i.e. door open, no tach sense, etc.).
In today's video, Doug reviews how to pull shut down diagnostics from the Firstech brain/controller using the on-board LEDs, which will light up in various sequences after shut down. These LEDs work as "error codes" to indicate why exactly the remote start was not successful.
