The Doyang River is a major tributary of the Brahmaputra River, flowing through Nagaland and Assam in Northeast India. It originates in Nagaland's Wokha district, then meanders through Zunheboto and Wokha, before entering Assam and merging with the Dhansiri River, which ultimately joins the Brahmaputra.

Key Features of the Doyang River:

1. Doyang Hydro Project: A 75 MW hydropower project was constructed on the river in Wokha, Nagaland, by the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO). It is the largest hydroelectric project in Nagaland.

2. Crucial for Biodiversity: The river and its surroundings are home to rich biodiversity, including migratory birds like Amur falcons, which stop in Nagaland near the Doyang Reservoir during their migration.

3. Irrigation & Agriculture: The river plays a significant role in supporting agriculture and irrigation in both Nagaland and Assam.

4. Fishing & Livelihoods: It sustains local fishing communities, providing a livelihood to people along its course.

It's 100 km from Zorhat. Best route for biking, met with some good people. One can have boating and good time with friends. #dji #drone #trip #nagaland #music
