"Welcome to today's Unreal Engine 5 progress! In this video, we tackled the task of creating an AI NPC capable of patrolling, interacting with the player, and displaying dynamic floating text to enhance immersion.
Here’s what we achieved:
AIPlayerController: Developed to control the AI’s random movement on the NavMesh and seamlessly handle transitions between patrol and interaction.
Player Interaction: Designed an interaction sphere to detect when the player approaches the AI, triggering specific responses.
Floating Text System: Successfully implemented floating text to display dynamic messages, making interactions feel lively and engaging.
Debugging Challenges: Overcame errors, resolved navigation issues, and ensured smooth integration of all elements.
