NEW COUNTRY, NEW PROJECT! We're in Argentina and we're currently about to embark on one of the biggest projects of our lives: renovating a family property with multiple houses AND a hotel! This property has been in the family for 3 generations and fixing it up is something we've been talking about for years. It is situated in the province of Cordoba smack dab in the middle of the country, and it's up in the sierras meaning it is surrounded by pristine mountains, forests and rugged nature. We've even befriended foxes!

In this video, we'll sit down and give you a very brief overview of what's to come. There's lots of work ahead, but we're super excited to get started!

So without further ado, here's our very first video of the start of something new!

NEW COUNTRY, NEW RENO PROJECT! 👷🌲 | Embarking on the Biggest Adventure of our Lives (So Far)!

🌄 Greetings from Córdoba, Argentina! Today’s video marks the first full day of our family property renovation project in the Sierras—here’s everything that happens:

Big Reveal & Morning Pep Talk

Samuel and Audrey hype up “the big day” – touring the hotel-in-the-woods and three rundown houses they’re about to renovate.

Warning: you’ll hear friendly guard dogs barking as they patrol the entrance!

Entryway Overrun by Nature

A makeshift gate leads into the property’s overgrown driveway.

Jungle-like vegetation on both sides—time for some serious landscape clearing.

Meet “Sarsamora”—The Crawling Blackberry

Audrey points out the invasive Sarsamora vine that “digs in, sprouts more shoots, and takes over.”

Twenty years of unchecked growth = a blackberry plantation, not a backyard.

House #1: The 1940s Stone Chalet

Built in the ’40s, this two-bedroom “chalet” features a classic stone exterior & wooden shutters.

Audrey’s first memory: Waking at age six to birdsong instead of city horns.

Ivy was stripped in 2018—but two more years of regrowth shows the work ahead!

House #2: “La Hostería”

Four bedrooms, communal kitchen—originally workers’ lodgings in the 1970s–80s.

Family history: their beloved “Aunt Anna” lived here, and Audrey grew up visiting.

Rusty bike and collapsed tennis net hint at decades of disuse.

House #3: Granny Anna’s Cottage

Tucked behind briars and sarsamora, this little two-bedroom cottage once housed Anna.

Sam’s childhood “second grandma” left behind the sweetest memories.

Access is tricky—vines so thick they block the stairs.

Old Dog Houses & Furry Friends

The original sheepdog houses for Bonnie & Jessie still stand.

Pepperoni, the neighbour’s pup, boldly follows Sam & Audrey on every walk!

Parent-Run 1980s Hotel Wing

An L-shaped Spanish-colonial–style building with 12 rooms (8 + 4 bedrooms).

Three-tiered stone terraces offer panoramic views of the Cordoba Sierras—once you clear the shrubs!

Curved archways & colonnades hint at the hotel’s heyday.

First Family Lunch in the Sierras

Milanesas (pre-cooked, reheated schnitzel) sizzle in olive oil.

Fresh garden salad with avocado, tomato, cucumber—and a glass of Las Moras red wine.

Audrey: “A thousand times better hot than cold!”

Planning Tomorrow’s Work

A day of rest to unpack suitcases, sort tools, & collect leads on local labourers.

Top priority: removing invasive vine from the hotels & homes’ foundations.

Sam already has three leads for clearing crews—great start!

Cozy Evening by the Fire

A crackling wood fire warms the main lounge as the sun sets.

Fresh mountain air, chirping birds & candlelight = bliss.

Samuel & Audrey toast with more Las Moras while reflecting on the journey ahead.

📅 What’s Next?
Detailed “before” walkthroughs of each building’s interior.

Landscape and structural assessments—chainsaws at dawn!
