Before I moved, I thought a simple life was all about a big salary. It turns out the secret lies in Dutch supermarkets.

This is my perspective as an Indonesian mother with four children living in the Netherlands, 5 reasons why life in the Netherlands is simple, not because of the money, but because the supermarket system is designed to make things easier for its citizens.

In this video, I share honestly: from the pre-cut fruit and vegetable aisles that eliminate the need to cook from scratch, to the system of one cashier and the rest robots with handscanners and cashless pinnen, to the spacious bakery section, the cheese heaven, the statiegeld, and the one aisle that makes me feel like I'm at home: the Indonesian aisle with soy sauce, crackers, and instant fried rice.

⏱️ CHAPTERS:
00:00 Intro
00:29 1. Life is simple when you don't have to cook (prepackage, precut, prewash, meal to go)
02:07 2. 1 cashier, the rest are machines — efficient & cashless
03:39 3. Only in the Netherlands — Bakery HUGE & Cheese in Any Form
05:56 4. That close to Indonesia — Indonesia's largest aisle
06:57 5. What I BUY vs. DON'T BUY at the supermarket
08:00 Supermarket proof the Dutch system is designed to make things easier for its citizens

If you could bring ONE thing from a Dutch supermarket to Indonesia, what would you choose? Let me know in the comments, I'd love to know!
