In this video, I dive into Decentraland - a decentralized virtual world created on the Ethereum block chain, and how you can invest in the virtual real estate of Decentraland. At first glance, Decentraland looks like an online video game, but after taking a closer look, there are multiple ways to invest or make money. The coin MANA which you may see on Coinbase or other crytpo trading platforms, is the currency of Decentraland. In game you can use MANA to purchase virtual real estate, accessories, names, and more. These are all referred to as NFTs - non fungible tokens. You have to have a crypto wallet to store your assets from within Decentraland. Even more interesting, you could purchase a parcel of virtual land, create and build a house, and sell it. What ever you see possible in your imagination can seemingly be brought to life in Decentraland. The virtual world offers user created games and events to win MANA, as well as a marketplace to purchase virtual land, estates, clothing, accessories, digital art and more. With Decentraland being decentralized (meaning governments have no control over it) it opens global borders and essentially is the first virtual global free market where you can buy, sell, trade, or invest.
