Step-by-Step Kinetic Type Tutorial
1. Setting Up Your Composition
Open your video editing software and create a new composition.
Name the composition "Kinetic Type 21".
Set the dimensions to 1080x1080 pixels.
Frame rate: 30 frames per second.
Duration: 10 seconds.
Confirm your settings by clicking "OK".
2. Creating Text
Select the Type Tool from the toolbar.
Type the word "wavelet" on your canvas.
3. Pre-Composing Text
Right-click on your text layer.
Choose "Pre-compose" from the menu.
Name your pre-composition.
Make sure "Open New Composition" is selected.
Click "OK" to confirm.
4. Using the Region of Interest Tool
With the pre-composed text selected, use the Region of Interest tool to make a selection around the word.
Navigate to "Composition" and select "Crop Comp to the Region of Interest".
5. Applying the CC Reptile Effect
Return to the main composition.
With the text composition still selected, go to "Effects" - "Stylize" and select the "CC Reptile" effect.
Adjust the "UP" and "Down" parameters to fill the composition with text.
6. Adding an Adjustment Layer
Right-click over the timeline.
Create an adjustment layer.
Return to "Effects", navigate to "Distort", and select "Ripple".
7. Configuring Ripple Effect
In the effect settings, set the radius value to 40.
Leave the wave speed at 1.
Set the wave width to 20.
Set the wave height to 50.
