Former hurricane reaches Europe - Weather reporters on site
Our weather reporter Marco Kaschuba reports from northwest Spain (Ribeira region), where former Hurricane Kirk is the first to make landfall on the European mainland. With peak gusts of around 120 km/h and meter-high waves, the extratropical storm is sweeping across the region. By Thursday, the former hurricane will reach Germany in a weakened form. Stormy conditions will be particularly severe in the southern half of Spain, and the low-pressure system will bring heavy rain across a broad swath across Germany.
