Data Engineers are no Data Scientists. That's the biggest misconception.
Data Engineering is the process of building automated systems to make different data available for Data Scientists!
Start by learning Python, SQL and Databases. Add a solid potion of data structures and algorithms to it and you are good to go to build your first data engineering project.
I am going to explain the basics of basics to you so you can get started with zero knowledge.
