I used to regularly forget to switch my living room fire off before going to bed so it was left on all night.
The remote control uses ultrasonic signals so can't be emulated with a commercially-available blaster (unless you know different) so this was a good option for making sure the fire goes off at 11pm each day - or via Alexa at any other time..
