Eid al-Fitr "translates as the festival of the breaking of the fast" features two or three days of celebrations that include special morning prayers. People greet each other with "Eid Mubarak" meaning "Blessed Eid" and with formal embraces.
Eid literally means a "festival or feast" in Arabic.
Believers will also enjoy large meals with friends and family, and exchange money and gifts.
Expatriates are enjoying a taste of both worlds as they celebrate Eid here in the Kingdom, mixing the old with the new, and local Saudi flavors with those from their homeland.
