I just stared at it for a long moment, my chest tight, my jaw clenched. She hadn’t been out with the girls. She hadn’t even tried to hide it. And the audacity to post it publicly—like I wouldn’t see, like my feelings didn’t matter—was the nail in the coffin.
I didn’t rage. I didn’t call her phone a dozen times demanding answers. Instead, I typed a simple reply to her story: “Looks fun.”
