Favourite Nigerian Brands 2021
It was important for me to talk about my favourite Nigerian fashion brands this year because I want to remember this. I want to remember how these brands impacted my love/vision for any aspect of fashion when looking back in a few years. I also want to see how they grow and possibly, how my feelings for them differ over time.
In this moment though, I'm learning from every one of these brands and I'm utterly in love with everything they create. I'd also like to add that I'm now very conscious of the clothes I own. I feel like I'm starting to find my staples and my entire wardrobe is consciously sourced so I'd like to keep it like that. Before these new purchases from Nigerian brands this year, my clothes have either been thrifted, gifted or hand-made. Now I don't mind new pieces as far as they're of supreme quality and I know when I want to pass them on, they'll still be in great shape.
This video took over a week to export and it's not even heavy. I'm learning.
Anywayyyyy, I had fun putting this journal together because it made me go back to some footage from May when I visited Ayo. Imagine that I almost didn't make it.
I also thought about how much media I've accumulated over the past few years and how I can always refer to those to tell a cohesive story. I'm grateful for those moments.
