Topical authority is the new trend when it comes to ranking on Google. By writing content that covers a topic in-depth, you can signal to Google that you're an expert on the subject and should be ranked accordingly. But how do you actually build topical authority?
I also review a tool I came across that helps categorize all your topics into a digestible format for creating your content silos.
Here are a few tips that I cover in this video:
1. Do your research. Dig into your topic's research and ensure you understand it inside and out. The more you know, the better able you'll be to write authoritative content.
2. Find unique angles. There's a ton of content out there already covering popular topics. Find unique angles and perspectives that haven't been covered as much to stand out. This will help your content get noticed and shared more.
3. Go deep, not wide. It's better to write one great article about a specific sub-topic than several mediocre articles about different aspects of the topic. By going deep, you'll be able to demonstrate true expertise, and Google will take notice.
