Hermit Purple is the Stand of Joseph Joestar and is one of the most useful Stands in all of Part 3: Stardust Crusaders. He was able to use his Hermit Purple's Divination technique to find where DIO was hiding, beginning the epic journey across the world alongside his grandson Kujo Jotaro and friends Kakyoin Noriaki, Jean-Pierre Polnareff, Muhammed Avdol and Iggy.
Joseph Joestar does not use his Stand Hermit Purple all too often for combat, as it does not really hold much use in full frontal battle. It is more useful for determining information that Joseph wishes to see. He uses this power on cameras, TVs and even on materials such as sand, but in theory he could use this ability on any object or item that has the potential to produce an image of some sort.
This Hermit Purple Stand Analysis has been requested multiple times and I had put it off, because Joseph Joestar's Stand is not one of my favourites by any means. However it was about time I focused on another Stardust Crusader's Stand. I only have Star Platinum, Silver Chariot and The Fool to do before I have done all Stands in the main crew from Part 3.
Joseph Joestar does appear in Part 4 along with his Stand Hermit Purple, however he is not a pivotal character in Part 4: Diamond is Unbreakable. He is mentioned a few times in Part 5: Golden Wind, and Hirohiko Araki states he is still alive by the ending of Part 6.
Hermit Purple is a Stand more used for information gathering and espionage, and Joseph Joestar uses this ability to it's full potential. I do not believe that Hermit Purple could have been used in many more ways, other than potentially used to bind more opponents in combat.
Hermit Purple is a close-range Stand however Joseph Joestar can seemingly extend it to perhaps 5 meters to be able to swing from objects above like a rope. The Stand is also durable enough to carry Joseph's full weight without giving way or breaking.
In the game "Eyes of Heaven" for the PS4, as well as in Heritage for the Future for PS1, Joseph Joestar uses his Stand Hermit Purple for combat a lot more. These are fighting games, keep in mind, so he kind of has to...
I hope you enjoy this new addition to the Part 3 Stand Analysis series. Don't forget to subscribe if you're new to the channel and if you enjoyed my video on Hermit Purple please leave a thumbs up!
