Dear Friends and Lovers,
As we move into a fresh new era of IAMX I feel it's time for me to bare more and to share more.
I want to invite you into my world as a creative human, I want you to see what I do day to day, how I make art and how I live. Welcome to my Pateron project.
There is so much in the workings of the independence machine that you don’t see. You get the final album or a live performance or a music video but no insight into the details of how it's all done. The secrets, the magic, the failures.
The numerous loops and musical oddities I make that never get released.
There's a huge amount of willpower, drive and boring shit involved in keeping IAMX alive and I want you to see it.
I want you to see how I write a song or make a drum beat. My vocal techniques, my technology.
I have found my universe in Pioneertown, California. Here I have begun many new projects musical, visual and psychological. Here is the new throbbing art heart. Here the freedom and beauty of desert life feed me.
You will see how I live, my house, my studio, my video barn, my dogs. You will see how I cook. I do a very special vegan cowboy chili.
You may even get to speak to me privately. It depends where this all goes. It depends on how much you want it.
In recent mental health gatherings I have talked about experiences with depression, anxiety and insomnia. MY LIFE has taken many necessary twists and turns to get me here. When I say MY LIFE I mean me as life, as the infinite as consciousness. I mean me as you, I mean we as one as the unified field outside the conceptual, outside otherness.
I'll be talking a lot about those challenges and the many tools I used to heal and to overcome. How my music has turned from an existential threat into a nourishing blessing.
This will be a small part of regular conversations you will witness. Maybe over dinner, or breakfast. Month to month alongside in depth studio sessions and many other developing treats.
I start this campaign in the hope that we can not only nurture something unique for each other but to also bring funding for the on-going Live DVD and Mile Deep Hollow tour documentary that is in motion.
There are so many possibilities, so many ways this could go.
I love you all and I want to be closer to you. In the end that's why I create.
