How to Count 15/8 With "The Moon" from DuckTales for the NES

The 15/8 lick in the beginning of “The Moon” is quite a popular topic when discussing cool video game music. But how does it work? Some people have asked me about how I have it beamed.
I don’t like to count it as 5 groups of 3 — it’s not compound meter — but more like how a prog rock musician would count it. It’s 4 + 3 + 4 + 4. There is more evidence to this later in the piece, where an additional eighth note (a C♯) after the 7th one puts the ostinato into 4/4. Check out the counting example I added to my transcription.
