Tepic is the capital of the state of Nayarit, in western Mexico. Its center is the leafy Main Plaza with the tall neo-Gothic Tepic Cathedral. Nearby is the Juan Escutia House Museum that tells the story of the young national hero who died fighting against American forces in 1847.
