The longest operating railway model in Ukraine was presented in the capital's planetarium. The length of the exposition is 81.9 meters, thus setting a new record for Ukraine.
The model includes stations and depots, switches and traffic lights, bridges, tunnels and crossings with cars, reduced by 87 times. More than 20 trains move along the tracks simultaneously: passenger, freight and service.
"This is the largest and longest operating modular railway model in Ukraine," says the project's co-author, 27-year-old Pavlo Gushchin, with joy. Its length is 81.9 meters. More than 20 trains are moving simultaneously on the model - passenger, freight, and service. We even have a certain strategy for exchanging cars at stations. The model has 8 stations, one of which is 8 meters long. There is also a locomotive depot with a turning circle. Traffic lights work, switches are switched. Trains move with the help of dispatchers who control the traffic. They communicate with each other using walkie-talkies, and communication between stations is carried out via IP telephony. In fact, this is a full-fledged operating railway."
