Physical and chemical changes
Physical and Chemical Change
n this video I will go over physical and chemical changes.
In each clip or picture try to figure out if you are witnessing a physical or chemical change
A physical change involves a change in physical properties only.
Examples include change in volume, size, shape, phase changes like solid to a liquid
And a solution that can be separated
A chemical change involves electrons being exchanged and a new substance is created.
Most likely you will see an indicator such as a change in temperature, or an explosion.
I have created another video that I will leave a link below that goes over this.
Physical Change
This is a change in size and shape only
Chemical Change
You can see several indicators, including a change in color, change in temperature, and an explosion.
Chemical Change
Famous mentos and diet coke
This is a great example of the indicator of fizzing
Physical Change
Cutting, folding, breaking, changes in size, and shape only are all physical changes.
Chemical
This is what happens when you mix sodium and water
The chemical indicators are bubble, change temperature, change in color
Physical
This is a phase change going from solid to a liquid
Chemical change
Chemical His is a classic example of a change in color. The cabbage juice was mixed with different solids and each substance creates a different color
Physical
Solutions can be trick a rule of thumb is if you can separate the solution for example with this example by evaporation you have a physical change
Physical Change:
The size of the metal can be altered by physical hammering, rolling and by heat.
