The ZIL-130 is a Soviet and Russian medium-duty truck. It was widely used in the national economy and the military, and was also exported. It was one of the most widely produced vehicles in the history of the Soviet automobile industry. We owe the production of this vehicle to the Likhachev plant, which produced the largest batch of this truck of all similar vehicles in the USSR. It rolled off the ZIL assembly line from 1964 to 1994.
The vehicle was equipped with an 8-cylinder, carbureted, four-stroke, V-shaped, overhead-valve ZIL-130 engine producing 150 hp at 3,200 rpm (with a limiter) and a displacement of 5,969 cm³. The ZIL-130 was equipped with power steering, a synchronized 5-speed gearbox, and a three-seat cabin with a pneumatic windshield wiper and foot-operated windshield washer.
MMZ-555. The ZIL-MMZ-555 dump truck with a payload capacity of 4,500 kg was designed for transporting construction and industrial materials and was built on the ZIL-130D1 chassis. The ZIL-MMZ-555 dump mechanism consisted of a platform, a subframe, and a hydraulic tipping device. The welded all-metal platform with a capacity of 3 cubic meters had a semi-oval cross-section and an opening tailgate that automatically unlocked when the body was raised. Since 1977, dump truck platforms have been equipped with a protective canopy above the cab as standard. The spare tire was secured in an inclined holder mounted on the right side member of the vehicle frame.
The MMZ-4502 was designed for transporting construction and industrial cargo and was a further development of the ZIL-MMZ-555 model. The main difference between the ZIL-MMZ-4502 and its predecessor was its straight-sided cargo bed with a capacity of 3.8 cubic meters. It was not designed for use with a trailer. The ZIL-MMZ-4502 dump mechanism consisted of a platform, a subframe, and a hydraulic tipping device. The 3.8 cubic meter platform was all-metal, welded, and straight-sided, with an opening tailboard and protective canopy. The spare tire was housed in a carrier with bent crossbars, located on the frame side members behind the cab, under the truck bed. The taillights, along with the license plate and rear mudguards, were mounted on brackets on both sides of the dump truck's subframe.
