Character history
The "people's militia" units of the Third Reich (Volkssturm) were formed towards the end of World War II by order of the Fuhrer. They were used as the Vaterland's last resort. In accordance with the Law on Defense, Volkssturm members were soldiers. In total, 700 Volkssturm battalions were formed, and also included women and children as young as 12 years old.
