All Boards in Pakistan represent the student’s marks scored in the annual examination (SSC, HSSC) in grades only. Therefore, students must know their grade/marks scheme and how to calculate.
However, the BISE and FBISE grade will not be provided to those candidates who have passed the Secondary/Higher Secondary School Certificate an examination from the Boards of Education other than the Federal Board.
A candidate, who has qualified for the grant of Secondary (SSC) / Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC), shall be placed in one of the following grading systems :
1. 80% and above Al Exceptional
2. 70% and above but below 80% A Excellent
3. 60% and above but below 70% B Very good
4. 50% and above but below 60% C Good
5. 40% and above but below 50% D Very fair
6. 33% and above but below 40% E Fair
The federal board stated that to pass a subject, 33% marks in each subject is compulsory. So, students have to secure 33% marks in theory and 33% in practical separately. “It means that the aggregate of Theory & Practical is not applied/calculated. Aggregate is only two papers of the theory of a subject”. Stated FBISE.
This policy is same for all boards in Pakistan
