If these automated scripts already have your username, then they're 50% of the way to being able to get into your site. While there are WordPress plugins available that can help you lock-down your site and limit a hacker's ability to get into your site files and backend database, one important step that you can take is to change the default "admin" username to something different. Additionally, you should be using a strong password, ideally one that includes both uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, or symbols.
