Best friends Timmy (Stephen Odubola) and Marco (Michael Ward) attend the same high school in Peckham but live in neighboring London boroughs. When Marco is beaten up by one of Timmy's primary school friends, their friendship comes to an abrupt end. Timmy's girlfriend Leah (Karla-Simone Spence) also suffers. After the two boys swear allegiance to their respective gangs and embrace violence, they become mortal enemies in a brutal gang war. On the rival sides of a never-ending cycle of violence known as postcode wars, there are ultimately no winners, only victims.
Directed by London-based Andrew Onwubolu, known as rapper Rapman (YouTube series "Shiro's Story"), this coming-of-age drama, for which he also wrote the screenplay, is deeply influenced by personal experiences and aspects of his childhood and is also a film adaptation of his YouTube series of the same name. The film stars newcomer Stephen Odubola as Timmy – a shy, clever, and somewhat naive boy from Deptford who attends school in Peckham – and Michael Ward (Netflix's "Top Boy," BBC's "The A List") as Marco – a charismatic, smart street kid from the south London suburb of Peckham itself. Ward won the 2020 BAFTA Award for Best Newcomer for his role in BLUE STORY – GANGS OF LONDON. The film also stars Khali Best ("EastEnders") as Killy and Karla-Simone Spence ("Gold Digger's") as Leah. The score was composed by Jonathon Deering.
