Spring Break 2020: Amsterdam

For spring break and my birthday this year, my mom and I went to Amsterdam. The main reason we went was to visit the Efteling theme park cause I've had the song from Indian Water Lilies stuck in my head. Now I have the song from Villa Volta stuck in my head. We had a lot of fun and then the pandemic was announced on March 12th. We stayed the remaining days of our trip instead of immediately going home and got really lucky with our stay at Efteling. We also got to visit a small tea house that is normally fully booked, had homemade apple pie, and bought a lot of tea.
I cannot count the number of pancakes and french fries I ate, places are numerous and so cheap. We got to see a lot of great art, including Egon Schiele, who is one of my favorite portrait artists. We also looked at the flower markets but didn't bring anything home. The only thing we didn't do is eat at Febo, which is like a giant fast food vending machine.
I had a lot of fun, mom had a lot of fun, and we can't wait to travel again. Before the pandemic I bought a ticket to Moscow that is now a travel voucher, hopefully I can book for after graduation if the vaccine rolls out, but until then, I'll stay here.
