I recently had to incorporate some 30fps footage (NTSC) that I shot with my iPhone into a 25fps (PAL) project.
I noticed that the parts with lots of motion had some ugly stuttering that was clearly caused by the difference in framerate.
Look at this clip to first see the raw footage, rendered at 25fps.
See the stuttering, especially in the trees moving quick.
After that I show the same sequence, but this time at a playback rate of 0,833% (which makes it 25fps again).
Actually that did not look as good as ‘hoped’, but it was a bit better.
I was curious if you could see the difference on Youtube and it clearly shows. The next clip (see link below) is much more smooth.
Edited in Sony Vegas Pro, with desampling OFF.
