🧭 Step 1: Open QGIS

Launch QGIS Desktop on your computer.

Create a new project or open an existing one.

🗺️ Step 2: Add Raster Layer

There are two main methods:

✅ Method 1: Using Menu

Go to Layer → Add Layer → Add Raster Layer...

In the dialog box, click the “...” (Browse) button.

Locate your GeoTIFF (.tif) file on your computer.

Click Open, then Add.

✅ Method 2: Drag and Drop

Simply drag your GeoTIFF file from your file explorer (e.g., Windows Explorer) and drop it into the QGIS map canvas.

🧩 Step 3: View the Raster

The raster (GeoTIFF) will appear in the Layers panel.

You can zoom in/out and pan to explore the image.

🎨 Step 4: Adjust Appearance (Optional)

You can change the look of your raster:

Right-click on the layer → Properties.

Go to the Symbology tab.

Adjust color rendering (e.g., single band gray, pseudocolor, RGB, etc.).

Click Apply → OK.

🗂️ Step 5: Save the Project

Go to Project → Save As...

Save your QGIS project (.qgz) file.

🧠 Extra Tip: Merge Multiple GeoTIFFs

If you have multiple raster tiles to combine:

Go to Raster → Miscellaneous → Merge.

Select input raster layers.

Choose an output file name.

Click Run.
