🧭 Step 1: Open QGIS
Launch QGIS Desktop on your computer.
Create a new project or open an existing one.
🗺️ Step 2: Add Raster Layer
There are two main methods:
✅ Method 1: Using Menu
Go to Layer → Add Layer → Add Raster Layer...
In the dialog box, click the “...” (Browse) button.
Locate your GeoTIFF (.tif) file on your computer.
Click Open, then Add.
✅ Method 2: Drag and Drop
Simply drag your GeoTIFF file from your file explorer (e.g., Windows Explorer) and drop it into the QGIS map canvas.
🧩 Step 3: View the Raster
The raster (GeoTIFF) will appear in the Layers panel.
You can zoom in/out and pan to explore the image.
🎨 Step 4: Adjust Appearance (Optional)
You can change the look of your raster:
Right-click on the layer → Properties.
Go to the Symbology tab.
Adjust color rendering (e.g., single band gray, pseudocolor, RGB, etc.).
Click Apply → OK.
🗂️ Step 5: Save the Project
Go to Project → Save As...
Save your QGIS project (.qgz) file.
🧠 Extra Tip: Merge Multiple GeoTIFFs
If you have multiple raster tiles to combine:
Go to Raster → Miscellaneous → Merge.
Select input raster layers.
Choose an output file name.
Click Run.
