The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) has beefed up security measures at its Carlsen Field scrapyard, after derelict buses were set on fire in March.
Responding to a question from Opposition Senator Wade Mark during Wednesday's sitting of the Upper House, Minister of Works and Transport Rohan Sinanan revealed measures taken by the PTSC to protect its assets at the compound.
Minister Sinanan indicated the arson was committed by unlawful elements as an act of revenge after their attempts to steal scrap metal were interrupted by security personnel.
