Maybe you've seen fractals, or used a fractal explorer app, but don't know how they actually work? This video hopes to show you some of the very basic underlying Maths of Fractals, before how to code a very simple fractal renderer.
Not all fractals are generated this way, but for those that are interested in the beauty of computer-generated fractals, the theory underlying them can be a bit daunting. Today we look at how some of the basic Maths underlying it works, as well as then (in Python) recreate the first computer-drawn fractal ever- the Mandlebrot fractal.

Fractals are basically entire dimensions which you can explore. Its possible to find things that nobody has ever seen before from your own computer - and you don't need a powerful computer either. My dad introduced me to fractals when I was about 7 or 8, and we had at the time a very moderate 486 and the term 'gigabyte' was a theory not actually something you could have.
