Lightroom Classic CC v7.5 UPDATE - fastest version on my machines for ages!!
Important tip below:
This morning (22nd August 2018) I got the latest update for Lightroom Classic CC, version 7.5.
From a speed point of view I now have the fastest version of Lightroom I've had in many a while.
I always test new versions of Lightroom by loading a particular catalogue that contains over 69,800 images that lives on a raided pair of hard-drives. The previews are notoriously slow to load into the grid view.
I've not been near this particular catalogue since June, yet when I opened it this morning the previews were all there in under 10 seconds - all 69,865 of them!
So I'm very pleased with this latest version of Lightroom Classic CC from a speed and performance standpoint.
IMPORTANT:
I forgot to mention in the video though, I did have two panel blackouts with Photoshop running in the background, once available RAM fell to under 9Gb out of 32Gb.
I repeatedly tried to make it happen on the video but couldn't!
If you DO GET A PANEL BLACKOUT - don't PANIC!!!!! Just hit the G key then the D key and you should get your panels back.
