Hey Y'all!
Today's video is all about my new favorite vegetable, Cockscomb!!!
I just put some flowers in a stew I made today and it was VERY good! ❤️ I highly recommend it.
Not only is it very tasty, it also has some great medicinal properties.
The following is a list of everything it can potentially help.
bloodshot eyes
cataracts
vision blurring
relieves poison from snake bites!?
headache
sores
ulcers
eye inflammation
skin eruption
painful menstruation
carpal tunnel syndrome
uterine bleeding
bloody stool
bleeding hemorrhoids
spitting up blood
Flowers help diarrhea
Leaves are used as dressings for boils and sores
Seeds are turned into a poultice for broken bones!
This plant is not toxic to cats, dogs, or horses, so you can safely grow it both indoors and outdoors.
Cockscomb has been said to be the world's most beautiful vegetable.
It's used all around the world, especially popular in Africa and India.
Every part of the plant is utilized and can be used just like spinach.
Stems, leaves and flowers are used in stews, soups, salads, sauteed with salt and pepper and thrown into smoothies.
Harvesting it just before it starts flowering is the best time to harvest (when you are cooking it, unless you want the flowers of course) so the stem and the leaves won't be stringy and chewy.
Thank you so much for watching today's video! ❤️
