Phoebus 200km in Paradise
I finally got a "proper" soaring day in the Paradise Valley just N. of Yellowstone National Park in my Bolkow Phoebus A1. It was AMAZING! And this was a relatively "modest" day, according to the locals. The corner of the canopy popped open in-flight, allowing a jet of cold air onto my L shoulder and face. By the end of the flight I was freezing cold, and ready to land. I'm still stretching my legs, so-to-speak, with cross-country soaring, and was always within glide of my take-off airport, thanks to the high thermals. So was this a "real cross-country soaring flight"? You let me know in the comments below.
