Examples, tricks, and solved exercises to master calculating the limit of functions as x approaches infinity.
We will learn the following indeterminate forms:
CASE INFINITY DIVIDED BY INFINITY
Rule: We must look at the x with the highest degree in the numerator and denominator.
a) If the degree of the numerator is higher than the degree of the denominator, the limit is positive or negative infinity.
b) If the degree of the numerator and the degree of the denominator are equal, the limit is the division by their coefficients.
c) If the degree of the numerator is lower than the degree of the denominator, the limit is zero.
CASE INFINITY MINUS INFINITY WITHOUT ROOTS
We find the least common denominator and simplify.
