In this video we dive into the Godox X3Pro. If you’re thinking about upgrading your flash trigger, or you’re just curious what real-world improvements look like, you’re in the right place.
What we cover:
• How the size difference between the X3 and X3Pro really makes a big difference on-camera and in your bag (the Pro version is noticeably more refined).
• The interface of the X3Pro — how the OLED touchscreen reads and responds, how intuitive it is to navigate menus, groups, channels, etc.
• Usability in real shoot scenarios: mounting on the hot shoe, accessing settings quickly while working, battery/charging features.
• Compatibility and features: TTL, HSS (High Speed Sync), group control, multi-flash setups — and what stays the same (or better) compared to the original X3.
• Things we pointed out: any minor trade-offs we found (for example, touchscreen vs physical buttons, learning curve, build feel) and whether for us it’s worthwhile to upgrade.
• Final thoughts: Who we think should buy the X3Pro (e.g., working pros, on-location shooters, travel photographers)
Why we did this review:
Because we shoot a lot of off-camera flash work (portrait, editorial, event) and found ourselves reaching for triggers frequently, we wanted to see how the X3Pro stands up when compared with the smaller, more compact original X3. We evaluate not just specs but how it feels in real use.
