Therabody’s Theragun Pro and Theragun Mini make muscle recovery and percussive therapy accessible. It’s just as important to let your muscles recover as it is to work them. The Theragun Pro is Therabody’s premium massage gun. It has impressive features that really make it stand out from other massage guns on the market. The Theragun Mini is Therabody’s lowest-end massage gun and it’s designed to be travel friendly.
The Theragun Pro weighs almost 3 lbs and feels really solid in your hands. It’s just heavy enough to back up its quality construction, yet light enough for you to use all over your body. The QX150 commercial brushless motor is meant to handle professional and personal use. It’s targeted toward fitness professionals, serious athletes, and users looking for a tool for maximum recovery.
It has an impressive 60 lb stall force, which is the amount of pressure you place on the massage gun when you use it. What sets the Theragun Pro above other massage guns on the market, is the 16mm amplitude. This is the depth that the massage gun gets into your body when used. This is also the highest amplitude found in massage guns. This allows you to get deeper into the tissues without having to use force. The triangular design also sets the Pro apart. This is Therabody’s patented design and allows for easy use and multiple grip angles.
The Theragun Pro is Bluetooth enabled to connect to Therabody’s free app. The Therabody App has guided sessions to help encourage you to use your Theragun correctly and regularly. The sessions are for warming up and recovery as well as for lifestyles like sitting at a desk all day. They have tailored sessions for specific sports and workouts. When you create a profile, it will compile a routine for you to do every day, too.
The Theragun Pro has 5 preset percussion speed settings and you can use the app to create custom speed settings. It also comes with 6 attachments to target areas on your body differently.
The Theragun Mini is meant for beginners and for on-the-go use. It’s handy to have in addition to the Theragun Pro or on its own. It has an impressive QX35 brushless motor, and 20 lb stall force. It also has a 12mm amplitude to massage your muscles. It comes with 3 preset settings and just 1 attachment.
We did find both of these massage guns to be pretty loud. Be aware that they might not be best to use in public or private settings where noise is an issue. It was a little challenging for me to hold a conversation with someone while using both of them. Although, considering how effective they both are, noise is a small price to pay.
