This video is a continuation of the previous video where I give a very detailed calculation for the matrix elements of the z-component of spin operator (S_z) for an electron.

In this video, I continue to calculate the matrix elements for S^2 (S), S_x and S_y matrices for an electron. The matrix element calculation for S_x and S_y turn out to be slightly more complicated, and I adopt some general formulae for these from the orbital angular momentum analysis (by giving appropriate justification). In all these cases, I have calculated sufficient matrix elements to give you a hold on the procedure.

In the end, I define the three Pauli matrices (\sigma_x,_y,_z), which dictates their connection to the electron spin matrices. I also give a few comments on their underlying importance and widespread use.

Pre-requisites: Basic knowledge of Quantum Physics and the previous lectures of this series.
