Lexus has released a hybrid, the Lexus LX 700h. This is the first hybrid in the model's history. The hybrid LX is equipped with a gasoline-electric powertrain with a 3.4-liter V6 and an electric motor. However, the car can be driven solely on electric power. A similar system, i-Force Max, is already used by Toyota on the latest-generation Tundra and Sequoia models.
The hybrid system produces 464 horsepower and 590 Nm of torque. For comparison, the gasoline version of the LX 600 produces 415 hp and 650 Nm.
Due to the hybrid system, the car is 120 kilograms heavier. The battery is located under the trunk floor and is housed in a waterproof compartment, allowing the hybrid Lexus LX 700h to ford water up to 70 centimeters deep. However, it's highly doubtful that anyone would ford water in a car costing over $100,000.
