Discover Unreal Engine Bink Media Player - Light and Optimized video loader with alpha support
In this video we are going to discover Unreal Engine Bink Media Player, a native tool included in UE developed by RAD Tools, a company that Epic adquired in 2021.
We are going to learn how to use the converting tool Bink2ForUnreal.exe and to configure it to convert videos with Alpha.
We also used Adobe Premiere Pro to render videos with transparency with the Quicktime MOV container and the codecs Apple ProRes 4:4:4 with alpha support and GoPro CineForm as another optional export format.
We talk about the difficulties of working with Industrial Light & Magic OpenEXR format and the PNG files for Image Sequence transparencies, as well with the difficulties with working with standard MP4 files and doing the Chroma Keying inside Unreal.
We are pending to solve or know from Epic if the Bink Media Player can be updated to be synchroniced with Level Sequences exports in the Movie Render Queue.
