Appliance Guru: Owner and Technician: The cause is the cast aluminum manifold.
Appliance Guru: Owner and Technician: It is a crude cast and the slots are not always even so the gas does not get distributed all the way around.
Appliance Guru: Owner and Technician: If you put a pan over it or block the lit side for a split second then it will light all around.
Appliance Guru: Owner and Technician: You need a new lower manifold or take a file and clean and file between each slot to get them all even and make sure the top plate is on right and flat.

JustAnswer Customer: We never use that burner but are selling our house and inspectors found this problem.
