A reclusive and uncommon type of mutant, Bloodsuckers strike fear into the hearts of even the most veteran STALKERS who have the misfortune of crossing their paths.
Bloodsuckers were first discovered by STALKERS as they began to push further into the Zone. After the emission, it was common knowledge that mutants and anomalies made expeditions dangerous. As expeditions began to explore new ways to safely traverse through the ever shifting pathways, it became more common for these adventurers to utilize underground tunnels left over by the Soviet government prior to the first emission. These tunnels, underground facilities, and bunkers were treasure troves of old soviet equipment and research data making them prime targets for STALKERS looking to make a quick score. Unfortunately those entering the underground passages, they soon realized that something else made its home there long ago. As the adventurers began to slowly explore the tunnels, they began to see shapes in the corner of their eyes as well as ghostly distortions off in the dark distance. The adventurers could hear breathing, small footsteps, and could feel malicious eyes penetrating their souls. One by one, the STALKERS saw their comrades slowly disappear, sometimes silently and other times only after a death scream. Reports of strange and hunched over creatures began to flood the Zone, creatures that could appear out of thin air.
