LaCroix was handed a city he couldn't hold, a job nobody wanted, and a box he should never have opened. This is the full story of Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines, told as a Camarilla post-mortem. An internal investigation into how one careerist Prince and a two-week-old fledgling cost the boys, the entire West Coast. Recap, sh!tpost, autopsy, and terrible writing and framing from yours truly. Spoilers for a 22 year old game.

AI Usage : AI was used for visuals for the case file, the table with the lamp asset, the room background, the “footage” of walking up to the door in the intro sequence. I was messing around with a previous draft and did want to make it clear AI was used in the video. In the opening shot AI added the monster cans, and posters and anime mouse pad to a screenshot from the game.

The maps were from blood atlas.

AI did not help with the scripting as only an incompetent human can write and re-write a good idea into something so abysmal.

I’m very disappointed with this video. I, tip-toed around the key point of LaCroix BEING SETUP TO FAIL, as that’s kind of one of the existing fan interpretations which, kind of no evidence for within the games, there’s a physical walkthrough guide with stuff in it? Which for this iteration of the script (which is 4 drafts stitched together, Strauss does not show up again lol, Poe was meant to be an obvious CIA spy type thing, there would’ve been a tie-in/clear setup for the politics of LA going into LA by night for an easy transition for viewers. I always intended to skip the twins as they don’t relate much to LaCroix albeit I wanted to re-edit/re-frame that confrontation scene as if there was truly two of them. As I don’t think a random camarilla stooge would know there’s only one. That would require going through all the twin stuff tho for that scene to make sense. Oh also Leopold society got cut entirely lol. They are , kind of not that important to the plot orbiting LaCroix personally. )I initially wanted something wilder, like he was utterly framed and did no wrong, werewolf park? Fake news, Wanted to diablerize what was inside the box? FUD, this is actually what LaCroix wanted proceeded by whatever thing I can stitch together to frame him as the hero of the story, twisting events and dialogue like some reverse hit piece but there really isn’t, the story is very clear and everyone blames him for everything. He has zero Stans.

I wanted weekly uploads but without the content mill. This video was WAY WAY out of scope. All in all it likely took in the 120+ hours range across two weeks.

The script particularly was awful, I enjoy editing and I often find the video in the edit. I was struggling with the script for most of week one, first draft was from my head the events of the game and god DID I MISREMEMBER what actually happens, what the choices are and completely brain wiped some of the problematic aspects of the game I forgot it had. Either way

The script was giving me a massive headache, I just had to call it at some point and hit record, fixing it in the edit. It was unfortunately, bordering on incoherent. Things got cut and cut until there was something resembling a coherent thing.
During the edit, as I was putting the video together god struck me with a vision of what the video should’ve been and I had two paths. Re-write, re-shoot and re-edit 80% of the video which would’ve thrown some 80 hours down the drain. I just couldn’t do it. So here it is, biggggg issues with this video most of which I’m well aware of. Next one will be better with a tighter scope butt I hope this is at least entertaining.

What doesn’t help is that it took a full day to export. My computer could not handle the layers, cut outs, masks and I had to RENT a cloud PC to actually render out the video. There is many, small editing mistakes. Nearly all of which I’ve noticed and could easily fix, if Capcut was not running at 2 seconds per frame.
