Toh Imago’s 2019 debut album Nord Noir was a restlessly inventive, meditative sonic portrait of his family’s history in the Northern French mining region he calls home. Now, on this remix package Toh Imago’s ideas are stretched and moulded into new shapes. An all star cast of producers weave dense, gripping narratives coated in the same smoky haze. Like the original album, this varied EP uses techno as a vantage point from which to explore the relationship between man, technology and place in the context of post-industrial decline.
