One of the great things about developing for iOS is that you only need a single piece of software and that piece of software is completely free. It's called X code. And in this video I'm going to show you how to download and install it. So first off in your browser go to developer dot appled dot com slash download and then you'll be asked to log in with your Apple ID. You almost certainly have an Apple I.D. If you're working with a Mac. So put in your email address and password there. If you don't have one you can just click Create Apple ID and then you just fill in the form with a few basic questions to create one but I'm going to log in here and then I'm taken to the downloads page. Now at the time of recording ex-coach is in bita so you should just download the latest version right there. It'll probably take a fair while to download because it is a very big file 5 and half gigabytes. So I'm just going to skip that bit and jump to the installation. So when the download is finished just move over to Finder and you should see this ex-coach not bita zip file and double click on it. That will then expand it using the archive utility and begin the installation process again. It takes a little while. So I'm going to skip past it and move to the next step. And there we go. So we now have this ex-coach beater. So just double click on that and X code were launched. You may see a welcome screen but I'm not getting that right now. So either way just get a file new project and now we're in a position to create our first ex-coach project which we'll do in the next video.
