We got to experience Guam's Valley of the Latte cultural tour in the beautiful southern village of Talofo'fo. Starting with a river boat cruise, our captain and host shared fun facts about the history of the river as well as the lifestyle of the ancient Chamoru people. The crew also provided a coconut demonstration, explained the building of ancient huts, and guided us around the native trees, plants, Latte Stones, and jungle life. We watched a fire-making demonstration, enjoyed a delicious fiesta plate for our lunch break, then trekked through a jungle path to visit animals like deer, goats, wild boars, and carabao. Ending the tour with a weaving demonstration, each tourist got to walk away with a woven gift like fish, fans, hats, and more. The staff was amazing and so accommodating with everyone's questions. I highly recommend newcomers indulge in this experience!
