Tinkercad is an easy to use Computer-Aided Design program supporting the construction of simple 3d models by stacking predefined 3d dimensional shapes. While Tinkercad it is easy to use, the lack of two-dimensional drawing capabilities limits the type of models you are able to create.

Most CAD programs, Tinkercad, Fusion 360, FreeCad and others, support importing SVG drawings as a way to extend the capabilities of the program and provide support for incorporating art into a model. For example, you may want to add a logo to a model or add sophisticated text in a range of fonts.

Boxy SVG is easy to use, yet quite a sophisticated application, available on most computer platforms, and supports creating and modifying SVG drawings.

This tutorial is part of a series on the MakeWithTech channel about create 3d models for production on a 3d Printer. I print the sample models on Creality Ender 3 and Ender 5 printers, a Prusa i3 Mk3 and 3d Printers from Monoprice.
