With the latest updates to IGTV and instagram, video creators and wedding filmmakers have the best opportunity to show off their work, but there are a few tricks to get the most out of it and after watching this you'll know how to use igtv in 2019 and get the most out of it!
Instagram has long been a platform to show off your photos and over time it has gotten more usable for videos. When instagram tv came out it was quite hyped but ultimately fell flat if you were not creating content specifically for igtv. However, with the latest update that has all changed. You can now maximize instagram and IGTV to drive tons of views to your full films, including using a swipe up feature with under 10,000 followers in your instagram stories.
For wedding filmmakers specifically we have always been limited by the instagram video limit and then by the fact that igtv was basically an entirely separate app that didn't always play nice with videos.
Now with the right tips you can post wedding videos to igtv that will directly link to your instagram profile, and you can also implement a swipe up feature under 10k followers in stories.
These two features combine to push full video content to followers and potential clients like never before!
It all starts with the best export settings for igtv videos. The igtv dimensions play a big role in getting your video to play well natively in igtv as well as in instagram. I go over a few different instagram tv export settings that you can use to teach you how to fix crop in igtv.
Beyond the best export settings for instagram video you also need to learn how to edit video for igtv. In the past we would do a vertical crop , resulting in a vertical wedding video, but with some new rotation features in the latest IGTV update you can present your films as they were meant to be seen and won't have to deal with any cropping issues.
You can also utilize instagram stories to post a clip of your wedding highlight film and then also get the instagram story swipe up feature by creating a link to your igtv post even if you don't have 10,000 followers which is a HUGE deal!
Instagram tv tips are not my usual type of video but I think this tool can be so useful to other wedding videographers that I had to make this igtv video tutorial.
