FEED MY SHEEP; LOVE RESTORES, GRACE RECOMISSIONS

Today we're looking at one of the most beautiful stories of restoration in all of Scripture – i.e., Peter's recommissioning by Jesus after his devastating failure. I want you to imagine the weight on Peter's shoulders that morning by the Sea of Galilee.
This man who had boldly proclaimed he would die for Jesus had instead denied him three times.
The man who had walked on water had sunk beneath the waves of his own fear.
The "rock" had crumbled. And so, like many of us when we fail, Peter went back to what was familiar – fishing. Back to his old identity. Back to what he knew before Jesus came along. But Jesus wasn't finished with Peter. Not at all. Jesus loved him so much that he comes to Peter’s failures and restores him.
And what follows is one of the most beautiful scenes of restoration, recommissioning, and grace found in all of Scripture.
