The Garmin Fenix 6 is possibly the ultimate multi-sport smartwatch and indeed the ultimate one given by Garmin. Or, well, the Garmin Fenix 6X Pro Solar is anyway, but the whole Fenix 6 range is truly top-end as wearables go. The Garmin Fenix 6 will track nearly any outdoor activity you could want, with GPS along with a heart rate monitor that even operates underwater. It highlights an always-on 1.3" color display, up to 14 days of battery life, and sturdy stainless steel construction with thermal, shock, and water resistance. When it comes to your health, the Fenix 6 highlights wrist-based heart rate and Pulse Ox sensors. Those statistics operate in conjunction with the various fitness features of the Fenix 6, giving you better insight into your overall fitness. When you're set to work out, the Fenix 6 gives you preloaded activity profiles for various sports and activities, such as jogging, trail running, swimming, and more. The Fenix Pro edition also gives features to coach you, assist you in preparing, and more. For example, PacePro provides you grade-adjusted guidance as you run. Round-Trip Routing sets up round-trip routes based on desired distance, and turn-by-turn navigation keeps you on track.
The Garmin Forerunner 945 is the most reliable of Garmin’s running-focused smartwatches. It’s not as feature-packed as the more multi-sport-oriented Fenix 6, but if all you care about is jogging, then this should have everything you’ll require and then some. It has a circular watch face with two buttons on the right and three on the left by design. At the same time, its 1.2-inch display houses a backlighting and transflective technology, which harnesses the Sun’s light to make things brighter as you will have no problem seeing what’s on the screen, even on the bright times. And for controls, you can press and hold the backlight button for about a second to get one menu screen, which gives you access to things like LTE, sync, and Do Not Disturb. While pressing and holding the center button on the left will let you access the watch face and settings for sensors, music, connectivity, safety and tracking, and more. The Forerunner 945 is designed to make it an enjoyable experience with streaming audio wherever your travels take you. Whether you enjoy music or audiobooks, pair arbitrary Bluetooth headphones and listen to streaming services through your smartphone or play files straight from the Forerunner. It can support up to 1000 audio tracks.
The Garmin Venu 2 strikes a complex balance between smartwatch and sports watch, successfully giving the best of both worlds. Its design is understated and doesn't scream 'sports watch.' Still, it's crammed with an exciting array of training tools, including exact GPS, quick access to Garmin Coach training plans, sensitive heart rate monitoring, cadence, splits, and much more. There are many indoor training modes, and the watch even syncs with cooperative gym equipment, plus third-party fitness and diet apps. Its bright and colorful OLED touchscreen is sharp and clear, as you can read it even in bright, direct sunlight while running. And housing two physical buttons, both on the right side of the watch; the top button is the activity start/stop button; with a long-pressing, you can get right to a circle of shortcuts for settings and apps.
